Specifying real-time bid settings

If your account can make real-time bids, you need to specify account-level settings related to your real-time bidding activity.

To specify RTB settings details:

  1. Click the My Account tab.

  2. Click the Real-time Bid Settings tab.

  3. Set the region-specific Server-side Real-time Bid URL for your account, which identifies the URL where OpenX Ad Exchange sends bid requests. Use the format:

    http://myurl.com

    To reduce latency, you can specify multiple URLs for different global regions, based on the location of the original ad requestCommunication from a web browser or app to an ad server to display an ad.. This includes a US East, US West, Europe, and Japan. OpenX Ad Exchange will send the request to the URL closest to the location of the original ad request.

  4. Set the region-specific Server-side Real-time Bid Result Notification URL, which identifies the URL where OpenX Ad Exchange sends bid result notifications. Use the format:

    http://myurl.com

  5. Work with your OpenX Platform Development Manager to set up your RTBReal-time bidding, auctioning online inventory within an ad exchange. Buyers bid for the impression based on the value of the user, whereas the seller sets pricing floors and awards the impression to the highest bidder. The auction process takes place in milliseconds, which is why the process is referred to as “real-time.” Data URL Template, which is the URL you can use for mapping user data that OpenX Ad Exchange stores for you.

  6. Work with your OpenX Platform Development Manager to set up your Cookie-mapping URL Template, which is the URL you can use for mapping user data that you store.

  7. For the Real-time Bid KeysA free-form string you associate to a header bidding line item, mapping it to a bid. It consists of a maximum of 20 lowercase characters., add your Encryption Key and Integrity Key, provided by your OpenX Platform Development Manager.
  8. Click Save.
