Creating conversion tags

To add a conversion tag:

  1. Click the Orders tab.

  2. Click the Conversion TagsA small piece of code that tracks how users respond to the ads that serve for the orders they are associated with. subtab.

  3. Click Create Conversion Tag. This displays the Create Conversion Tag screen, where you need to specify details for the conversion tag.

  4. In the Name field, type in a name for the conversion tag. This name must be unique to your account.

  5. In the Action Type field, choose one of the following options for the type of user action that you want to track with this conversion tag:

    • Lead. Choose this option to attribute a user's view of the advertiser's website to an ad that serves for the order.

    • Signup. Choose this option to attribute a user's action of signing up, to an ad that serves for the order.

    • Sale. Choose this option to attribute a user's purchase to an ad that serves for the order.

    • Custom. Choose this option to attribute a user's custom action (such as filling out a survey) to an ad that serves for the order. Type the custom action type in the field.

    Note: After you create and save the conversion tag, you cannot change this setting.

  6. (Optional) Select the End of Funnel check box if you want a user's triggering of this conversion tag to discontinue further attributions for orders associated with this conversion tag.

  7. Select the Order Association check box to manually associate the new conversion tag with orders for this account. (Automatic association is not currently available).

  8. Click Create.
