HTML ads

HTML ads can display in web, linear videoA video ad or ad unit that typically appears in a video player before (pre-roll), after (post-roll), or during a break (mid-roll) in the streamed content. In addition to the in-stream format, linear video ad units may include interstitial, out-stream, and opt-in formats. They may also be accompanied by companion ads and include interactive components., and non-linear videoAn ad or ad unit that displays on top of video content in a video player. Creating an HTML ad

  1. Open the view line item screen of the line item you want to create an ad for.

  2. From the Ads tab, click Create Ad. This opens the Create Ad screen where you specify details for the new ad.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the ad that is unique to the container line item.

  4. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description to help others recognize this ad.

  5. (Optional) Specify start and end dates for the ad, which determine the first date that the ad is expected to run and the last date the ad is expected to run.

  6. In the Ad Type list, select HTML.

  7. In the Size list, select a standard IAB size for the final ad rendering. Alternatively, select Custom Size in the list and enter custom dimensions in the Width and Height fields.

  8. Specify the HTML Ad Code to use for the ad. Do one of the following:

  9. (Optional) Enter a Click Tracking URL to be referenced by the macro, using the format: http://www.clickurl.com

  10. In the Click Target Window list, select one of the following to specify how to open a new window to the click URL:

    • Current Window. Opens to the click URL in the current browser window.

    • New Window. Opens to the click URL in a new browser window.

    • Parent Window. Opens to the click URL in a frame that is greater than the frame where the ad displays.

    • Top Window. Opens to the click URL in the full browser window (cancels frames).

      Important: To use Click Target Window with HTML ads, you must set the ad's anchor tag to include: target={ad.click_target}. The {ad.click_target} macro will be overwritten with the option you choose for Click Target Window.

  11. If manual weightingAn ad delivery method for which the ad server distributes impressions between ads in a line item based on the Ad Weight setting for each of the ads in the line item. is enabled for the ad's line item (that is, Manual Weighting is selected for the container line item's Ad Delivery Mode setting), type in number between 1 and 99.9 in the Weight field.     If you enter weights exceeding 100 percent for a line item, the weights are adjusted relative to each other such that the sum is 100. For the most predictable weighting, make sure that the weights add up to 100.
