Editing piggyback beacons

You can change any settings for the piggyback beacons that you have access to, as necessary. For example, you might want to change the status of a beaconAn element on a publisher’s website that is invisible to users while it gathers information. AKA “tracking pixels.”, or the name or priorityIndicates which deal or line item should take precedence in the case that multiple deals or line items are eligible to serve for a given ad request. for a beacon.

You change beacon details in the Edit Piggyback BeaconA named code snippet returned to the browser when a user triggers another beacon it is associated with. screen for the beacon that you want to change. In addition, you can change the name, status, or priority for a piggyback beacon directly in the list of beacons, or you can change the status of multiple beacons at once.

To edit a piggyback beacon:

  1. Open the view conversion tag screen for the conversion tagA small piece of code that tracks how users respond to the ads that serve for the orders they are associated with. that you want to change a beacon for, and then click the Beacons tab.

  2. In the list of beacons, click the edit icon for the piggyback beacon that you want to change. This opens the edit piggyback beacon screen.

  3. Change any of the following settings for the beacon, as necessary:

    • Name. Type in a new name for the beacon. This name must be unique to the advertiser account.

    • Priority. Select a new priority for the beacon, which determines the order in which it is initiated.

    • Code. Change the code for the piggyback beacon.

    • Fire on Attribution Only. Select this check box if you want OpenX to initiate this beacon only when it its conversion tag makes a successful attribution.

  4. Click Save.
