Overriding historical impressions

View and set overrides for historical impressions to adjust future forecasts for a selected ad unitThe smallest inventory component that represents the space on a site where ads display.. After you set an override, a red marker displays where it is set in the Overrides bar, so that you and others can see it and modify it as necessary.

To override historical impressions:

  1. Click the Override subtab, and choose the ad unit to view and/or set overrides for. By default, the graph displays plots for historical impressions (blue) and the next year forecast (green) for the ad unit, which you can click to toggle on and off as necessary.

  2. To focus your view on the dates you're interested in, use the date picker at the bottom of the screen. Select a preset date range in the list, or set specific dates.

    This updates the graph to display the plot for those dates only. (You can drag the control bars as needed to reduce or expand the date range.)

  3. Click Edit Overrides next to the selected ad unit. This opens the Edit Overrides screen where you can set or change an override for the ad unit for each day during the selected time frame.

  4. Click in the ImpressionA single display of an ad on a web page, mobile app, or other delivery medium. For deals, impression is a metric to relay the total number of ads that have served. See also billable impression, forecasted impressions. Override column of the date you want to override and type in a value. (You can set overrides for multiple dates at the same time.)

  5. Click Submit. The Impression graph for the selected ad unit refreshes to show the new overrides where they occur in the plot.

  6. Set more impression overrides or change existing ones, as needed.
