Analyzing forecasts and historical data

View forecasted impressionsThe number of impressions that have been booked to deliver for a campaign. for one or more ad units, sites, and publishers and analyze historical data (including impressions, seasonality, and accuracy) for your inventoryAd space available on a website or app. The basic unit of inventory for OpenX is an ad unit.. By default, OpenX:

  • Displays each forecast plot for an entire year out. You can also focus your forecast view on a specific time frame within that year. To further narrow your forecast, select a specific targeting template to apply (by default, no targeting templates are applied to the forecast).

  • Provides historical data views for one year in the past. You can focus your view on a particular time frame within that year.

To analyze inventory:

  1. On the Forecast tab in the OpenX main screen, click the Analysis subtab.

  2. Choose the inventory for which to view data. By default, data for all of your inventory is displayed.

  3. Click Show Chart. By default, the history graph for the selected inventory is displayed.

  4. Choose an option to switch between the forecast view and historical views:

    • History (the default). View historical impressions, including seasonality patterns and trends.

    • Targeted Forecast. View forecasted impressions. You can choose existing Targeting Templates to refine the forecast.

    • Accuracy. View historical accuracy.
