Creating selling rules

Create selling rules for the inventoryAd space available on a website or app. The basic unit of inventory for OpenX is an ad unit. that you want to make available for real-time selling.

To create a selling rule:

  1. Go to the Inventory tab.

  2. Click the OpenX Market Rules tab.

    Note: The brandA name that represents the product or service being advertised, such as Tide. name of your market appears as the name of this tab, such as OpenX US Rules, or OpenX Market Japan Rules. The same is true for the Add Rule button.

  3. Click Add OpenX Market RuleEnables OpenX Ad Server, Bidder, and SSP customers to specify what inventory is eligible for RTB buyers to purchase.   4. Specify the following required details for the selling rule:

    Important: Always choose Linear Video for Video (In Beta) inventory, whether web or mobile.

    • In the Industry Filter list, you can select to allow all industries, block all industries, or allow or block specific industries.

    • In the Domain Filter list, you can specify individual domains to allow or block. Domains are not case-sensitive.

    • In the Blocked Creative Types list, type in and select the creative types to block.

      Tip: For Video (In Beta), remove In-BannerThis is an ad that appears on a web page which is typically hyperlinked to an advertiser’s website. Banners can be images (GIF, JPEG, PNG), JavaScript programs or multimedia objects (For example, Java). Video Ad (Auto Play) and In-Banner Video Ad (User Initiated) as some DSPs will not bid on your inventory if they interpret these settings to mean you don't support auto play and user initiated video ads.

    • In the Blocked Content Attributes list, type in and select the content attributes to block.

    • In the Blocked Languages list, type in and select the languages to block.

  9. Click Create.

As necessary, you can change settings for a particular selling rule.
